History & Vineyards

In 1986 Enzo Marcolini and his wife Carla fall in love with a place that is as magic as rocky and harsh. In this moment and place the estate Il Monte Caro is born.

It is situated on the south-east facing slope of Mount Caro with an altitude that varies from 150 to 300 metres slm. in the thriving Mezzane valley, in the Valpolicella region. Seven hectares of vineyards, olive and fruit trees, bees and wild herbs surround completely the winery and the family home. Around the estate one can find woods and water springs. The eye can stretch from the Northern Lessinia mountains to our village Mezzane di Sotto and eventually to the Appenines, south further the Padana plain.

Il Monte Caro tells the story of the Mount, the story of our family, of strong determination and of a dream achievement.

Today the organic estate is run by the new generation Giorgio and Emanuela. We produce territorial wines and multi-cultivar extra virgin olive oil. Our project is young, artisanal and dedicated to the health of the Mount: its soil, the wonderful Nature that lives on it and our family. For this reason we work organically, placing ever more attention and energy in the vitality of the soil and in the valorization of biodiversity.
